Magic Trade Show Recap
Thursday, February 23rd, 2012Fyasko Welcomes Crazy Dave & Squishy.
Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012So, here it goes – words from the man himself…
“Well I should let you people know who I am right? David Ortiz. Not the baseball player they call Big Papi – you know, the guy who’s on the Red Sox (side note I don’t like Boston). Nah, I’m just a real dude from New York born and raised in Brooklyn East New York section. I’ve worked for Zoo York skateboards then later opened a sneaker boutique called Dave’s Quality M3AT. I just recently opened up a new shop called Dave’s Wear House located in Chinatown. I walk around and shoot photos of the city I remembered as a kid. And I’m gonna share this rare point of view of NYC cuz it’s slowly fading away and if I can hit you with some real meaningful shit and you like it, I hope it makes you love this place as much as I do. Enjoy…..” -Crazy Dave, 2012.

Happy Presidents Day!
Monday, February 20th, 2012For Skateboarding & The City
Sunday, February 19th, 2012South Swell Donuts, Laguna Beach
Friday, February 17th, 2012“If we are honest, our jobs largely focus on the internal conversion of caffeine and sugar into energy, followed by a huge sugar rush then the crash in the early afternoon where we think our jobs are horrible, we want to quit and move to Paris, dump our girlfriends and find a new one, or grab our boss by their thinning hair and drag them out of the office screaming…or maybe that’s just me until I get my next cup of coffee? Anyways, I thought I’d share the OTHER side of the sugar business and shoot some photos of the local fuel stop; South Swell Donuts in Laguna Beach, CA. Khann and his wife, Jackie, have been running this spot for over two decades and have a steady flow of regulars every morning. One bite of their donuts and you’re hooked!”

Erik Hale on Real Orange
Thursday, February 9th, 2012Our good buddy Erik Hale, founder and publisher of Locale Magazine, was recently asked to appear on a tv segment for the Real Orange, a show that focuses on everything Orange County. And if you want to know about what’s going on in the OC, Locale is definitely your go-to guide. The mag explores fashion, cuisine, art, music and all the other reasons why we live in beautiful Southern California.
Peep some of the behind the scene footage we snapped. Oh and check out Erik looking foxy as ever in our “Rooster” tee. Yep, there had to be some shameless self promotion. Enjoy.
Real Orange airs on PBS at 5:30pm and 11:30pm and week nights on the OC Channel.
FC Cancer presents Brain Cancer Benefit for Jon McFarland
Wednesday, February 8th, 2012“We are throwing a victory over cancer benefit for Jon who has been battling his second round of brain cancer. Many times when we hear of these stories we feel a little tinge of guilt knowing we could do something but just don’t get off our butts and do it. In coordination with the FC Cancer Foundation, Waxy Wax, Surfette, BCP, and Mahe Restaurant, we are going to be having a one night only benefit of drinks, fund raising, and partying in honor of Jon’s fight and inevitable victory over this disease. The night it self is fairly cut and dry.” – Ben C.
Can’t Be Stopped.
Tuesday, February 7th, 2012“I was lucky enough to spend the day with some of the most prolific graff writers from the CBS Crew. These dudes have been hacking it up since before you were born so to see them in action was truly an honor. I can’t wait to show you all the finished product, but let me tell you, it is starting to look like Stan Lee grew 25 feet tall and turned his comic books into buildings. There is some really wild stuff as far as technique is concerned and I will follow this post up with a finished product when the crew tightens it up! Keep it right here at FYASKO for more!” -Ben
