Montana Colors: TILT “Endless Obsession”

by Hannah on January 16th, 2012

The first video in the Montana Colors Big Addict series comes in the form of this time-lapse offering dubbed, “Endless Obsession.” Directed by Benjamin Roude and with music by Dick Laurent is Dead, the one-part hypnotic, and equal parts obsessive video exploration into the art of the throwup is achieved masterfully. Utilizing only blacks and whites, TILT showcases that a good graffiti artist’s work is never done.

This past weekend I.T.S. Music Playground hosted Good Listener’s album release party at 1980 Gallery in Costa Mesa, CA. I was invited by my good friend Steven Kerns (who’s birthday was also being celebrated) to come by to do some live painting for the show. Beat dropping live performances went down by DJ’s TerribleFolly, Cloud Life, Yes Mistress, GKEN-E, Alphabets, ThirdRock, Smurko, Myrcene and Good Listener. Installation art was set up all around with sweet neon flowers and black lights by Burning Man artist Dana Troy. Overall great night of art and music… always a good time with the ITS family, here are  a few flicks from the night.

Plastic Life

by Hannah on January 12th, 2012

The microworld imagined by French photographer Vincent Bousserez is now captured in print with his new book, “Plastic Life.” In placing factory manufactured figurines amongst real life surroundings, he creates ironic and poetic scenes using macro photography. The results are tiny people that are dominated by the surrounding world of lifeless giant objects.
