Let talk about street art. Is everything you see in the street thats painted, street art? That’s a real interesting question. I see shit all the time and I think it’s street art. some think its trash but that’s what it’s all about – one person’s expression and another person’s idea of what that expression is.
One of the first people I noticed making street art was Keith Haring. his chalk drawings really had an effect on me as a kid. When I was younger I had to take extra classes for reading and writing (I’m not the best when it comes to that shit as you can see from the way I write but whatever), I would see some of his chalk drawings around Jay Street and Hoyt Street cuz that was where my Saturday reading and writing classes where. It was some of the coolest stuff I ever saw. I never once took it as Graffiti. I knew what Graffiti was cuz I grew up near the A and C lay ups by Grant ave…Real WRITERS know where that is.
Now a days people put shit up all over. does this make them street artist or just obsessive compulsive about putting their shit up? who’s to say? well, heres some stuff Ive seen around. you decide for yourself. I’m just the messenger and I’m leading you to the water, you figure out how to drink it…
If you come to NYC, take as many photos as you can cuz there is shit every where. I could photograph all day but I don’t want to bore you.
Now get back to work …..you been been fucking around long enough looking at pictures….hahahah
