War, No More Trouble!!!

Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

So, in light of this week being the 9 year memorial for 9/11, we thought it would be good to pay tribute to the immortal peacemaker, the one & only Bob Marley.  Here is the ‘War, No More Trouble’ video as a testimonial to the human spirit.

And a little message from the ‘Playing for Change’ website:

“As we made our way around the world we encountered love and hatred.  We met people both rich and poor, black and white, and from innumerable religious groups and ideologies.  Over the course of our journey it became very clear that as a human race we need to transcend from the darkness to the light, and that music will be our weapon of the future.  This Song Around the World features musicians who have seen and overcome conflict and hatred with love and perseverance.”

“We don’t need more trouble, what we need is love.”  The spirit of Bob Marley always lives on!

George Michael Sentenced to Jail for “Drug Driving”

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

Even George was shocked...

You have gotta have faith…especially since it’s George Michael jail time for the singer. Yes, he will reportedly spend some time in the clink and is sure to be singing the blues.

He was sentenced to jail for eight weeks today in a hearing at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court. Stemming from the incident that caused the singer to crash into a photo shop in London due to impaired driving under the influence of drugs, George was seen today looking sharp prior to his sentencing, and he appeared to be “in good spirits”.

District Judge John Perkins reportedly gave Michael a break for his “guilty plea and his remorse”. So instead of a 12-week sentence, he was issued an 8-week sentence to serve. In addition, the singer is ordered to pay a fine of $1,925 and was issued a five-year license revocation.

Nonetheless, George feels “profound shame and horror” from his actions. His lawyer, Mukul Chawla:

“It is no exaggeration to describe him as a very kind, considerate and loyal man, constantly concerned for the plight of others. The prospect he could have put anyone else in danger is an appalling prospect to him.”

He released a sincere message via his website to his fans:

“I want to thank you all sincerely, and also to reassure those of you who worry so much for me. I fully appreciate the seriousness of my current situation, for which I truly apologise…I feel you should know that on the day after the incident I checked in to a clinic for a 14 day detox program here in London, which has been followed by ongoing outpatient drug counselling several times a week. Personal problems which I had tried to deal with myself had clearly got the better of me, and I am sorry that my pride has prevented me from seeking help before now. I would also like to express my thanks to those whose discretion allowed me to begin this process in private, which has helped me greatly.”

But definitely make no mistake, Michael will dance again! He already had taken the steps to better himself by checking into rehab just last month. Let’s hope that the singer can get the help that he needs!

S-O Terick

Hey Kids! Be on the look out for one of LA’s most sought after yet elusive artist, James Gillette. His ability to create pieces that range from street to fine art shows just how versatile this cat really is. Here’s a sneak peak into the workings of this creative genius. Enjoy!!

Installation for 994 Party

This is a piece that James has done as part of a exclusive signature collection. Each installation is customized for the collector, making them one-of-a-kind.

The Process of Painting Contact

This is one of our faves and resides on the wall outside of Eleon Photography Studios in Downtown Los Angeles.

LA Alley...

The “Scroll” was featured in a group show at the Rowan Gallery in DTLA last July. It has the look of a fine art painting through simple butcher paper & acrylic.

These three installations were all digitally hand drawn, portraying a new form of art that not many can execute.

Woman Files $12 Million Ageism Lawsuit Against Diddy & Other Celebrity Gossip You Don’t Care About…

Tuesday, September 7th, 2010

P. Diddy says he didn't do it

Francesca Spero just filed a lawsuit in federal court in NY — in which she describes herself as a “51-year-old white woman” who served as a high ranking exec for Diddy since 1998.

In the docs, Spero claims she and Diddy — aka Sean Combs — butted heads after she informed him that she needed major hip surgery in 2008 … and then later “suffered a relapse” to an addiction to prescription medication and alcohol. Spero claims Diddy was “unsympathetic to her condition” — and ultimately tried to freeze her out of the company.

Spero says she continued to do her work — signing new artists — but was eventually fired in March 2010 … and replaced by a woman 10-15 years younger who “lacked the skill set and experience Spero brought to the position.” Spero now claims Diddy — along with his publishing and management companies — owe her $12 mil in damages for age and disability discrimination.

UPDATE: A spokesperson for Sean Combs tells TMZ, “This is a grab for money by someone who concedes in her complaint to having had a drug relapse while on the job and an employer who was not satisfied with her work.” The rep adds, “There are many reasons why Ms. Spero is no longer employed by Bad Boy, but age discrimination is not one of them.”

In other Celebrity Shenanigans…

We are just so effortlessly perty

■David and Victoria Beckham are reportedly planning on staying in America full-time: “”Frankly they cannot see themselves ever returning to make London their full-time base. The children are settled, speak with American accents and David and Victoria are immersed in the laid back Los Angeles way of life. They love it there – they’re well liked, have plenty of friends and feel it’s their spiritual home. [DigitalSpy]

Teen Princes

■Christina Aguilera on her marriage to Jordan Bratman: “It’s important to be open to growing together, and when the going gets tough, you have to see how you can make your relationship more special and how you can spend more quality time together. Everyone has rough patches, everybody grows and we all change. It’s important to give each other room to grow and to accept them for who they are.” [USWeekly]

■Michael Douglas says he might have put his career ahead of his family when he was younger: “My career was really just getting started and that was my focus, maybe more than it should have been. I was gone more than I should have been.”[NYDN]

Ewwwww

■Douglas’ wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, has opened up about her reaction to her husband’s diagnosis: “I know maybe I should be stronger but emotionally I just don’t want to see the man I love hooked to a chemo IV or lying motionless on a radiation table under a positioning mask…It wasn’t a huge shock, I knew something was up but the one thing that struck me first was: ‘This doesn’t happen to Michael Douglas’. The hardest part is seeing his fatigue because Michael is never tired. I’m 25 years younger than him and he wears me out.” [DailyMail]

■Meanwhile, Douglas’ ex-wife, Diandra Luker, says that Douglas hung up on her twice when she called to wish him well after hearing about his diagnosis. “I was so sad I cried for two days.” [DailyMail]

■Stevie Nicks is working on a new album: “At a certain point, I’m going to get too old for this, but making this album really shows that I’m not done yet.” [ContactMusic]

■Drew Barrymore says if she could play anyone in a rock biopic, it would be Debbie Harry, and that her go-to karaoke song is “the Beastie Boys’ ‘Paul Revere’. I’m going to sound like a jackass, so I might as well pick a good song and be a cooler jackass.” [DigitalSpy]

■”I love 30 more than I’ve ever loved anything. I feel like I was born on my 30th birthday. It’s finally the time where I’ve fully accepted and loved myself, which I’m realizing more and more each day — it is so important to love yourself. Because if you don’t love yourself than nothing really matters. For a long time, I went through life kind of beating myself up and trying to be a perfectionist and do everything right and I just thought, ‘What’s the point?’ I have faults, that’s fine. I can still strive to be better, but I’m not going to be as rough on myself as I used to and it’s just kind of alleviating all of this stress and kind of taken a weight off my shoulders and I think now I’m just happy.”-Kristen Bell [Parade]

Beth on Moss

■Beth Ditto on Kate Moss: “We’re not super good friends, not because we don’t like each other. We’re in two different circles…I do think she’s helped me a lot by being a really cool bad-a*s person. She likes what she likes and she likes who she likes and she just happens to be really gorgeous and good at what she does.” [ContactMusic]

Don't call me Marky Mark

■Mark Wahlberg thinks he looks like “an ass” in his old music videos, and his family apparently agrees: “I remember seeing this thing on VH1, some Sexy People Of The 90s show. My brother Paul was watching with me and my assistant they were just killing themselves with laughter. To top if off I was number one! So for ages after whenever they’d call, they’d be, ‘Can we speak to the Sexiest Man Of The 90s please? They keep killing me.” [ShowbizSpy]

Surf Pioneer Turned Surf Photographer – Clark Little

Monday, September 6th, 2010

Waimea Bay shore-break surfing pioneer, Clark Little has gained nationwide recognition for his photography with appearances on Good Morning America, Inside Edition, and many local news stations across the U.S.

Golden Wave

Water Drops

It all started in 2007 when Clark ‘s wife wanted a nice piece of art to decorate a wall. Voluntarily, Clark grabbed a camera, jumped in the water, and starting snapping away capturing the beauty and power of monstrous Hawaiian waves from the inside out.

Tubular Shining

Surf Crashes Down

“Clark ‘s view” is a unique view of the ocean that most will only be able to experience safely on land while studying one of Clark ‘s photos. Now with a camera upgrade and an itch to get that better shot, Clark has taken this on full time and has moved his office from land, to the inside of a barrel.

Liquid Gold

White Water

Since the recent stir of Clark ‘s work, his images have been run on the Today Show, ABC World News Now, Nature’s Best Photography, Paris Match (France), La Vie (France), Hana Hou (Hawaiian Airlines) magazine, Surfer magazine, Surfer’s Journal as well as multiple publishers and newspapers in the U.S. and overseas.

Splash

Red Mystery

These incredible images of waves in the Hawaiian Islands were taken by Clark Little, the number one photographer of surf. He is dedicated to photographing the waves and has published a selection of his best images. He captures magical moments inside the tube as surfers say.

Wave Break

Sand in Surf

This shot captures sand from the ocean’s floor being swept up by a monstrous wave and resembles a sandstorm. Little calls it the Sandmonster. “There were clouds of sand ten feet high and I’m standing there. I’m holding on to my camera and my trigger as long as I can. Then I have to jump into the cloud of sand to try to get out of danger’s way.

His fans pay as much as $4,000 for his gorgeous photos.
